Closing this MR as we have now reverted !1107 (merged) in !1205 (merged).

I have created a new MR !1213 (merged) to re-introduce conflict detection changes again. The commits from this MR have been moved there.

Prevents conflict detection on pre-existing auto-save items with no original_hash property.

Marking as draft, because we are reverting !1107 (merged). The changes in this MR will be moved into updated MR that will be re-introducing the contents of !1107 (merged)

Testing instructions

  • First step for someone to test the changes in this MR
