google_analytics 6.x-4.0

This version implements the latest Analytics.js API well known as Google Universal Analytics.

New features:

• Supports Analytics.js API
• Cross domain tracking
• User ID tracking across devices
• Dimensions and metrics support
• Changing URL fragments can be tracked as pageviews
• Debug mode with analytics_debug.js

All Google documentation links have been updated.

This is not banana software that need to ripen on your servers or has never been fully tested. As always - upgrading from all releases including older branches and previous core versions is fully supported! The 3.x branch is no longer supported as Google has decided to migrate all users to Universal Analytics which is available in 4.x only. If you upgrade to D7, upgrade from 6.x-3.x or 6.x-4.x to 7.x-2.x only. Do not upgrade from 6.x-4.x to 7.x-1.x!

Backward incompatible changes: Custom variable settings as well as before and after code snippets will be deleted (snippets are backed up before deletion) as they are incompatible with UA and cannot be upgraded automatically. If you use them please fix them manually (see instructions after running update.php).

Requirement: Most Google Accounts should have been converted automatically to Universal Analytics, but these task seems not completed yet for all accounts. Make sure you followed Step 1: Transfer Property before you upgrade the module.
