Love that this does away with behaviors. There could be a future state where the Drupal? bit are replaced with an importmap Although I guess that won't work for drupalSettings as it stands.

I'm a big +1 on moving this to a Web Component. Besides the noted ~50% speed improvement noted in the issue summary when initializing the dropbutton, we get the execution time for dropbuttons down to 0ms whenever Drupal.attachBehaviors() is called.
