Testing instructions

Start with Drupal CMS 2 (Byte or Starter Template)

  • Delete the existing Canvas module from the codebase.
  • Clone the Canvas 1.x branch.
  • Check out to the issue branch in this MR.

Run:

cd web/modules/contrib/canvas
npm install

Run:

cd web/modules/contrib/canvas/ui
npm run build

  • Use Node.js version 24.
  • Clear Drupal caches.
  • Install the canvas_ai module or apply the AI Assistant recipe.
  • First step for someone to test the changes in this MR
