fix: #3621003 Reshoot the installer card screenshot at 500x400 and rewrite the site template description

Issue: #3621003 Give the site template a properly framed installer screenshot and a description in the Drupal CMS house style

Problem

In the Drupal CMS installer's site-template picker, the Varbase Starter card did not show a preview of the site the template builds. It showed the Varbase brand lockup.

Two causes, both in the recipe's own files:

  • screenshot.webp was a logo lockup, not a screenshot. The shipped file was a 632x304 brand image. Every peer template on the same screen shows a rendered page, so ours read as the odd one out and told a prospective user nothing about what they would get.
  • The aspect ratio did not match the card. The picker renders each card image in a box of roughly 1.25:1 with object-fit: cover. The shipped file was 2.079:1 (632x304), so the picker cropped the top and bottom away heavily, leaving even less of the already uninformative image visible.

The description had the second half of the same problem: A starter site template recipe for Varbase, providing a modern recipe-first approach to initializing Varbase sites. is developer-facing wording about the delivery mechanism. The Drupal CMS house style on that screen says who the template is for and what the site ships with.

What changed

  • screenshot.webp replaced with a 500x400 (1.25:1) render of the Varbase Starter front page, so the card fills its box with no crop and shows the site the template actually builds.

  • recipe.yml description rewritten, one line:

Designed for teams starting a new Varbase site, this template features ready-made home, about, features, blog and contact pages, with blog posts, a media library, search, a contact form and built-in SEO and accessibility tools.

No config, no dependencies, no install behaviour touched.

Provenance of the screenshot

The image was rendered from the approved Varbase Figma stylesheet (VB - Approved Stylesheet), cropped to the top 1.25:1 band of the page and resampled to 500x400. It is a design-source render rather than a browser capture, and it is honest as a preview: the installed site's front page genuinely renders that layout, which is what the card is promising.

Verification

  • Recipe YAML parses; name, type and the recipe list are unchanged.
  • The new screenshot.webp is 500x400, exactly the 1.25:1 the picker's box expects, so object-fit: cover crops nothing.
  • Verified live in the Drupal CMS installer's site-template picker, beside the peer templates: the Varbase Starter card now shows a page preview at the same framing as the others, and the description reads in the same voice. The before and after images are embedded on the issue.
