Issue #3494603: Modified code to check for getEntity().

changed target branch from 8.x-1.x to 2.0.x

Could not get it to work, specifically while testing with https://www.drupal.org/project/views_bulk_edit on D11. The approach looks good to me, however, I think that should rather apply to simplify_hide_widget() function at least (or better everywhere we have this getEntity())
