feat: #3627824 List news on the home and category pages from views, not static cards
Issue: https://www.drupal.org/i/3627824
Every card list on the home page and the six category pages is now a block of the new rightup_news view placed in Canvas. No static cards remain on those pages; the ad card, headings, dividers and subscribe bands stay.
- Per placement: each block sets its category by name (
exposed.filter-name), offset and count in Canvas. Term names, not ids, so placements survive any install. - Queues: Top stories (home hero), Featured (featured block and On Display slider), Editors' picks (per category). Empty queues fall back to promoted (Featured) or sticky (Editors' picks) stories, then the newest. Lead, side and more exclude sticky stories so picks never repeat.
- View modes: nine for news,
rightup_showandrightup_episodefor the podcast band, each with a Canvas content template matching the old cards. - Demo content: 22 new articles (Studios, Product, Process, Branding now have nine each), plus date, promote and sticky changes so the shipped order holds.
- Tests:
05-03-category-landing-pages.featureand08-04-homepage-news-lists.feature; 08-01 no longer expects static host text.
Needs vartheme_bs5_rightup!57 (merged) for the row and column dividers.
Where the order differs from the old static pages, because dates cannot satisfy both the home page and a category page: Architecture side stories and More grid (same six stories, different slots), the home Latest grid (items 2 to 6), and The Latest list, which is now the ten newest stories rather than the ten oldest. The podcast band shows the newest Last Call episodes.
Verified on a fresh Drupal CMS install: all seven pages 200, zero watchdog warnings, 32/32 scenarios in 05-03 and 08.
