fix: #3622820 Footer SUBSCRIBE button links to the contact page instead of the newsletter form
Fixes #3622820.
What this changes
The footer column is headed "Subscribe To Our Newsletters" and its supporting line reads "Be the first to hear about university events, news, and updates", but the SUBSCRIBE button linked to the general Contact Us page. A visitor who wanted the newsletter landed on a contact form that says nothing about one, so the call to action and its destination disagreed.
One value in config/canvas.page_region.vartheme_bs5_educare.footer.yml:
href:
uri: 'internal:/form/newsletter-subscribe'
options: { }The trailing slash is dropped at the same time. Drupal normalises /contact-us/ to /contact-us when rendering, so it was harmless, but the stored value should match the alias.
Why this destination
Varbase already ships a Newsletter Subscribe webform through varbase_webform_base, which Educare requires, so the right destination already existed and was simply unused. No new content and no new dependency.
This is a different defect from Horizon Aid #3622817, where the equivalent button had no destination at all and did nothing. Here the button always worked; it just pointed at the wrong page.
Verification
Anonymous, on an Educare site built from this recipe:
- The footer renders
<a href="/form/newsletter-subscribe" class="btn btn-primary ...">SUBSCRIBE</a>. - Following it reaches the Newsletter Subscribe form, HTTP 200.
- The button keeps its appearance, including the orange circular chevron, so the design is unchanged.
