Why does Quick Edit unset CKE profile's settings like custom config, styles set and css files?

<p>ckeditor module's profile settings allow the use of ckeditor.styles.js to define the list of custom styles that should be allowed in the styles drop down. Edit module appears to unset this setting and others, preventing the use of this custom styles lists. <p>Why are these settings being removed?</p>
<p>What are the consequences of not unsetting the custom styles set (stylesCombo_stylesSet)?</p>
