Version 2 of Prepopulate will have new features and change behavior from the 1.x series. Currently you can now use Prepopulate on any form, not just node forms. The only form not working is the comment form (#273832: Prepopulate comment forms).

The Prepopulate module provides the ability for form fields to be pre-populated via the request sent for the form.
The module is vulnerable to access bypass which would allow a malicious user to change the value of fields they would not otherwise have access to alter.

This release brings prepopulate.module for Drupal 4.7.x the chocolatey goodness that HEAD had enjoyed, ie., recursion, so that it correctly walks through the form array. See #55403 for the relevant issue.
