MidCamp 2019 Session Selection [META]
>>> [!note] Migrated issue Reported by: [kthull](https://www.drupal.org/user/425798) >>>
MidCamp uses blind session selection for submissions, removing bias by putting the focus on the value of the content over the identity of the presenter(s). While this does not contribute to a greater diversity of speakers, it does increase the chance for new presenters to speak at an event.

Session proposals must be anonymized before the selection committee reviews and ranks the proposals. This primarily involves removal of any identifying information (individual or company) in the proposal title and brief, as well as any gendered pronouns. Then, presenter names are replaced with pseudonyms and then the anonymized data is given to the selection team.

The person anonymizing should be present during selection to answer any questions, but is not allowed to participate in the actual selection.

For 2019, there will be 55 session slots over two days (three of which are reserved for the core sponsor level), with a mix of 30- and 60-minute sessions. Currently, no keynote presentation is planned.
