There are several potential starting points
<ul>
<li>Issues with novice tasks recommended by stratetigic initiative leads or contributors</li>
<li>The list of <a href="https://www.drupal.org/project/issues/search/drupal?project_issue_followers=&status%5B%5D=1&status%5B%5D=13&status%5B%5D=8&version%5B%5D=any_11.&version%5B%5D=any_10.&issue_tags_op=%3D&issue_tags=Novice">Active, Needs work, and Needs review tagged "Novice"</a></li>
<li>Issues with tags like "Needs manual testing", "Needs Issue Summary Update", and "Needs tests" can be good opportunities for contribution depending on the skill set of your team, because these are <em>actionable</em>.</li>
</ul>

<li>Once you have triaged the issue, you might do one of two things:
<ol>
<li>Remove the novice tag (because it's not really in a state where a novice could pick it up easily), or</li>
<li>Add it to the list of issues for our sprint by adding the "Nara2025" tag (along with "Novice"; we keep both!) Plus this comment:<br>
