<h2>1️⃣ 2️⃣ mentoring opportunities. <table>
<tr>
<td>Kristen Pol</td>
<td>I’d like to follow rather than lead given my other commitments at DrupalCon</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Phil Frilling</td>
<td>I'm reluctant to lead, as it would be my first time, but definitely want to participate.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Chris Darke</td>
<td>I would like to mentor someone else to run the 1TW workshop if possible… so I’m happy to leas that..</td>

<h2>1️⃣ 3️⃣ ACTION ITEM: Create recruiting copy for DrupalCon NA 2023 mentors. This is for twitter posts, blurbs in DA newsletters, etc. A ticket will be created later this week.</h2>

<tr>
<td>Tim Lehnen</td>
<td>And I will happily help coordinate with the DA channels to get the word out</td>

<table>
<tr>
<td>AmyJune Hineline (volkswagenchick)</td>
<td>I plan on being at both orientations, I am open to mentor a mentor on leading the discussion.</td>
</tr>
</table>
<h2>2️⃣ Discover Drupal mentors... How is everything going?</h2>
<table>
<tr>
<td>Sarah Corbine</td>
<td>It’s pretty quiet right now. My mentee and I are still meeting about once a week as she works on her portfolio site.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Rolando Scott</td>
<td>My mentee unfortunately quit the program.. Drupal was never her number one priority as she was studying cybersecurity and got into drupal just to have a taste of how sites were built.. but drupal probably isn't the best route for that.. its unfortunate but just how it goes.. but that does mean i have time to help support any other mentor with their mentee or anything else needed 🙂</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>AmyJune Hineline (volkswagenchick)</td>
<td>That’s a nice way of looking at it Rolando.I get it, Drupal wasn’t for me either (dev), so I went community.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Rolando Scott</td>
<td>I'm glad you stuck around though !!</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>V Spagnolo</td>
<td>In another organization we would say that 10 people will walk in the door and 1 will stay and join.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Ryan Price (he/him)</td>
<td>From the perspective of a mentor who doesn’t have a direct student, it’s not always easy to know what everyone is working on. Looking forward to Pittsburgh</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>AmyJune Hineline (volkswagenchick)</td>
<td>^^ i feel that too Ryan</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Phil Frilling</td>
<td>She is doing great! We're still meeting weekly when our schedules align. She's found some freelance Drupal work and is mostly asking for help/guidance on that work. She's wrapping up the DCO - Professional Module Development course and is getting comfortable with Xdebug and PHPUnit.</td>
</tr>
</table>
<h2>3️⃣ 1️⃣ There has been some talk in #contribution-events of having a remote counterpart for the DrupalCon contribution day for those who cannot attend DrupalCon… let’s discuss </h2>
<table>
<tr>
<td>Kristen Pol</td>
<td>This would be community organized</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Kristen Pol</td>
<td>@VladimirAus offered to help lead</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Kristen Pol</td>
<td>Would appreciate any thoughts or feedback on this</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>tyler36</td>
<td>Having a remote counterpart would certainly be more inclusive</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gábor Hojtsy (he/him)</td>
<td>It would definitely be more inclusive. I think it really depends on the teams in person at DrupalCon. I don’t think specific tech would be needed to do this, rather if the teams are also present online. For example, in DrupalCon Portland, we worked with various offsite folks on Olivero and Claro. See <a href="https://www.hojtsy.hu/blog/2022-may-05/epic-story-last-week-how-drupals-frontend-and-backend-look-changed-after-11-years">https://www.hojtsy.hu/blog/2022-may-05/epic-story-last-week-how-drupals-frontend-and-backend-look-changed-after-11-years</a> with mentions of how we worked together.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Kristen Pol</td>
<td>Thanks :+1:</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gus Austin</td>
<td>Could/should <a href="https://www.drupalcontribution.org/">https://www.drupalcontribution.org/</a> be used to help coordinate and promote?</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gábor Hojtsy (he/him)</td>
<td>I don't think it contributes to lowering the friction of contribution if onsite people need to register on and follow an entirely separate site where there is not much of a way to have real time activity (and thus a feeling of working together) other than video meetings. That's basically the only practical part of the site for a hybrid event I think.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gábor Hojtsy (he/him)</td>
<td>But there are lots of hoops to get there.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gábor Hojtsy (he/him)</td>
<td>For new people onboarding them to that site is a one way street. It's not used after the event at all. So they are not onboarded to the regular means of connecting to the community.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gábor Hojtsy (he/him)</td>
<td>For existing people they are already on the existing platforms (slack primarily) so it's extra burden to register and be there.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gábor Hojtsy (he/him)</td>
<td>I don't know slack huddle limitations, but those for example could be used as a BBB replacement at which point slack would be a good standalone solution IMHO and is getting people involved to their eventual place of contribution for the longer term.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gus Austin</td>
<td>Makes sense - I haven't attended recent DrupalCons where that site was used for some purpose. I'm aware it's being used for internal/public coordination <a href="https://www.drupalcontribution.org/group/contribution-mentors-drupalcon-pittsburgh-2023/about">https://www.drupalcontribution.org/group/contribution-mentors-drupalcon-pittsburgh-2023/about</a></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gus Austin</td>
<td>...and that's mainly because I get notifications as one of the current admins of that site :sweat_smile:<span class="drupalorg-gitlab-issue-link project-issue-status-info project-issue-status-1"><a href="https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal_contribution/issues/3281963" title="Status: Active">#3281963: Relaunch drupalcontribution.org</a></span></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gus Austin</td>
<td>Off topic for this agenda item (and DrupalCon) but there's potential for bringing that under the drupal.org umbrella in the future.Of course that was a terribly non-technical way to describe. Thankfully @hestenet (he/him) is part of the #drupal-contribution-group and running point in those discussions. :raised_hands:</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gus Austin</td>
<td>Considering it's one of the channels listed at the bottom of <a href="https://events.drupal.org/pittsburgh2023/contributionThere">https://events.drupal.org/pittsburgh2023/contributionThere</a> will be some sort of presence and support provided by #drupal-contribution-group during contribution day. The site is just one component of what we hope to enable. :sweat_smile:</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gábor Hojtsy (he/him)</td>
<td>Yeah I don't know what does the mentoring group use it for. It does not say on the page and I did not see it actively referenced in the mentoring discussions before, but if it's a suitable tool for what is needed, great :)</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gus Austin</td>
<td><a href="https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C4K9UPX9P/p1678310587636219?thread_ts=1678309649.726829&cid=C4K9UPX9P">https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C4K9UPX9P/p1678310587636219?thread_ts=1678309649.726829&cid=C4K9UPX9P</a></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gus Austin</td>
<td>I didn't realize it was being used for the upcoming DrupalCon until seeing it come up as an agenda item.I felt compelled to provide a heads up about our involvement... which seemed to go unnoticed :joy:</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gábor Hojtsy (he/him)</td>
<td>What is it used for though beyond signing up? It was only used for signing up in Prague as far as I see, there is no other activity in the group.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Kristen Pol</td>
<td>I’m not clear how it will be used. We used for the remote DrupalCons and it was semi helpful because of the built in zoom like feature we used</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Alison</td>
<td>Is this Wednesday, June 7? -- sorry, not attending in-person and a bit out of touch of when everything is!</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Alison</td>
<td>(regardless of that ^^)Color me very interested if it happens, and also unable to help make it happen :sad-panda: Thanks for the discussion!! (edited)</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Kristen Pol</td>
<td>Yeah, I think it would be that Wednesday … though maybe it would span beyond the in person event hours to accommodate for more international participation</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gus Austin</td>
<td>I think there could be some opportunities for mentored contribution events leading up to DrupalCon 📣</td>
</tr>
