<td>Woot!</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>I completely failed at my task. I got distracted the past couple of weekends by some other tasks.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>I believe I have most of the BoF information posted from vonreyes.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Dan Gurin</td>
<td>I might be able to help with the dinner / social event planning. How do I sign up for that? Did I just sign up for that? Is there a person who knows answers to questions like how many people and which date?</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>First thing would be to create an event on the contribution site in our Portland 2022 mentoring group for the social event, @dangur. The previous meeting notes had some ideas discussed about how to make it a safe event covid-wise, and maybe looking at catered food cart (gluten-free friendly, vegan-friendly) . @rootwork had some excellent suggestions so if you would like to work together that would be great. Getting an idea of what budget we would need based on the mentors who sign up on that event (or generically looking at our current mentors for the event), would help as well.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Dan Gurin</td>
<td>I'm struggling to find a time Thursday between the end of contribution sprint (5:30) and the start of trivia (6:00). Thinking about trying to score this space <a href="https://www.ecotrustevents.org/redd">https://www.ecotrustevents.org/redd</a></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Dan Gurin</td>
<td>Created a stub <a href="https://drupalcontributions.opensocial.site/group/contribution-mentors-drupalcon-portland-2022/event/mentor-dinner-social-event">https://drupalcontributions.opensocial.site/group/contribution-mentors-drupalcon-portland-2022/event/mentor-dinner-social-event</a></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Dan Gurin</td>
<td>Ballparking 50 attendees, let me know if that's waaay off</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Ivan Boothe</td>
<td>Ecotrust building is great, assuming we had the budget for catering. Only question I had (from previous conversation) is whether DC folks will be getting transit passes -- I believe everyone did the last time DC was here, but didn't know if that was a special arrangement, temporary tourism promotion, etc. The distance is walkable (~30min) if it's nice, and of course there's Uber etc. it just might be pricey. Note even with transit there is some walking, tho I believe all those sidewalks/curbs are accessible (I will double-check if we go with that): <a href="https://goo.gl/maps/Y1Vcem8WnpN75pLu9">https://goo.gl/maps/Y1Vcem8WnpN75pLu9</a></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>I think that was a special arrangement. It's okay to assume we can make it there across the river, I think.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Ivan Boothe</td>
<td>cool</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>Transit was fairly accessible back then too, right?</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Dan Gurin</td>
<td>Assuming we're doing Thursday at 6 and skipping the trivia</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Ivan Boothe</td>
<td>yes, all transit options now are fully accessible</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Ivan Boothe</td>
<td>(bus, tram, train)</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>Some mentors will probably want to go to trivia (or not).</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Dan Gurin</td>
<td>I spoke with a dude @trinet (the public transpo system) There are 2.5 hour passes for $2.50, and day passes for $5</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Ivan Boothe</td>
<td>seems like if we wanted to allow for trivia & have it in that time slot the only opt would be for it to be on-site and do a catered thing (food cart or other)</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Dan Gurin</td>
<td>Yeah, haven't figured out how we can fit mentoring, this event, and trivia in due to space time continuum restrictions</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>Trivia starts at 20:00, right?</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Ivan Boothe</td>
<td>is the 5:30/17:30 conclusion of the sprint a hard schedule? If it got pushed earlier 30min we'd have a full hour (edited)</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Dan Gurin</td>
<td>I'm showing trivia starts at 18:00 also known as 6:00 in North America <a href="https://events.drupal.org/portland2022/schedule/2022-04-28">https://events.drupal.org/portland2022/schedule/2022-04-28</a></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>Oh, wow, it's pretty early.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>and on-site.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>I'm not sure how anyone is going to be able to eat after contributing and get back to trivia. Maybe food on-site?</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>Oh, it mentions "good eats"</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Dan Gurin</td>
<td>Maybe they mixed up the military time conversion :shrug:</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>Do voodoo doughnuts have vegan/gluten-free options?</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>Did I remember that name correctly?</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>Or maybe a sorbet / ice cream treat before trivia dinner :d</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Ivan Boothe</td>
<td>voodoo doughnuts do have vegan and gf opts, but us locals think voodoo is only for tourists :slightly_smiling_face: there are better doughnut opts...</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Ivan Boothe</td>
<td>but yes a snack-ish type thing might make more sense</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>My friend, who at the time lived in portland, gave me an ice cream parlor tour each night back in 2013</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Dan Gurin</td>
<td><a href="http://www.sloshypops.com/catering">http://www.sloshypops.com/catering</a></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>Good unique idea, thank you.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Ivan Boothe</td>
<td>Thought a little more about this - I really like the creativity of Sloshy Pops, but it also reminded me of some concerns folks have expressed in the past about the presence of (lots of) alcohol at tech conferences. I know they have non-alcoholic options, so I don't mean that those who don't drink wouldn't have options. A few articles I ran across:<a href="https://modelviewculture.com/pieces/alcohol-and-inclusivity-planning-tech-events-with-non-alcoholic-optionshttps://technical.ly/diversity-equity-inclusion/alcohol-tech-events/https://medium.com/@mxsash/how-to-build-a-better-alcohol-culture-at-your-tech-conferences-and-events-9e1cce7179c0https://friday.app/p/alcohol-at-tech-eventsSo">https://modelviewculture.com/pieces/alcohol-and-inclusivity-planning-tech-events-with-non-alcoholic-optionshttps://technical.ly/diversity-equity-inclusion/alcohol-tech-events/https://medium.com/@mxsash/how-to-build-a-better-alcohol-culture-at-your-tech-con...</a> again not to say it's a bad idea just to raise this as part of the conversation.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>mradcliffe</td>
<td>Yes, the alchohol options are a bit worrisome. We could probably cater only the non-alcoholic?</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>AmyJune Hineline (volkswagenchick)</td>
<td>I vote for the non-alcoholic options as well.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Gábor Hojtsy (he/him)</td>
<td>Re event leads if you need to cross-check with initiative leads at the conference (for issue triage, connecting mentored folks with them in case the topics overlap, etc <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D7BGHIoirXBqvGX__9TItz0OHjiINJcHvG1h28_nVew/edit#heading=h.io4uh5gfpt2h">https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D7BGHIoirXBqvGX__9TItz0OHjiINJcHvG1h28_nVew/edit#heading=h.io4uh5gfpt2h</a> is where we are collecting which initiatives will be in Portland and who of them will be there)</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>AmyJune Hineline (volkswagenchick)</td>
<td>@dangur Florida will pitch in $200 toward a mentor event.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Rachel Lawson</td>
<td>The mentor thank you event doesn't necessarily have to be a meal in the evening. Could be a hearty breakfast the next day before people depart, Lunch, whatever. Be creative (edited)</td>
