There's also a huge debate about doing a similar thing for contrib at <span class="drupalorg-gitlab-issue-link project-issue-status-info project-issue-status-7"><a href="https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/1612910" title="Status: Closed (fixed)">#1612910: [policy, no patch] Switch to Semantic Versioning for Drupal contrib extensions (modules, themes, etc)</a></span> with no resolution in sight, so I'd rather not discuss it here. </p> <p>This issue is to figure out what all needs to be updated Drupal.org-wise in order to support this.
