>>> [!note] Migrated issue <!-- Drupal.org comment --> <!-- Migrated from issue #3550425. --> Reported by: [intrafusion](https://www.drupal.org/user/424800) Related to !24 >>> <h3 id="summary-problem-motivation">Problem/Motivation</h3> <p>I received an email from Google:</p> <p>On October 30, 2025, the following embedding models will be discontinued and will start returning errors:</p> <ul> <li>embedding-001</li> <li>Embedding-gecko-001</li> <li>gemini-embedding-exp</li> <li>gemini-embedding-exp-03-07</li> </ul> <p>This change affects all current projects and applets that use these models.</p> <p>We understand this change may require some planning and have provided additional information below to help you with the transition.</p> <p><strong>What you need to know</strong></p> <p>We are discontinuing the support for these outdated experimental models to make way for the newer <code>gemini-embedding-001</code> model.</p> <p><strong>Benefits of this change:</strong><br> The new model is now a stable, generally available release. It outperforms its predecessors in performance and has higher rate limits.</p> <p><strong>What you need to do</strong></p> <p><strong>Action required:</strong><br> You must switch to <code>gemini-embedding-001</code>, our new generally available and stable text embedding model.
