Warning! A hook_update was wrongly named, see #3187640: Wrong hook_update name. Executing it on websites that already have it executed should have no consequences but test carefully when updating.

The 8.x-3.x version is a big rework of the module's architecture, see #3082611: Entity share 3.x for a detailed list of issues. This is the first alpha release.

This is more of a technical release to update patches against it. To avoid to remake patch against 8.x-2.0-alpha1 and having them no more applyable on the next release.

Previously, in the case of entity reference, the check if the entity was managed (reminder, we exclude users and config entities from sharing) was done on the JSON returned by the JSON API.

Bug fixes:

The main update is a change in the code to be compatible with the field enhancers from the JSON API Extras module.

So a workaround for the link field can be applied, See #2873068: Link field with internal entity.

There are also code updates to fix coding standards.
