<p>The <a href="https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal">core project node</a> lists four different releases. We use the short descriptions to help people decide which to choose, but this does not really give people all the information they need. It's tricky to balance usability concerns of not overloading the page with text against helping people understand what the different releases are each for.</p>

<p>Include a link to the release process overview handbook page, which explains which each of the release types are.</p>
