The beta has been <a href="https://www.drupal.org/project/drupalorg/issues/3152637">enabled for contrib projects</a> since June 19, 2020. For core we want to enable the beta as well, but so as not to create a free-for-all before the workflow has been fully vetted, we need to enable it for only certain issues at first. <h3 id="summary-proposed-resolution">Proposed resolution</h3> We are looking for approximately 20 or so core contributors who have core issues that they'd like to use to test the issue fork and merge request beta. We'll test these issues through the full life cycle, validate with core contributors and maintainers, and then be able to enable for all core issues. <h3 id="summary-remaining-tasks">Remaining tasks</h3> Core contributors should only opt-in issues they are actively working on. These should be relatively quick-lifecycle issues (not ones likely to take months or years) - but complex enough to fully exercise the issue forks and merge requests. Contributors should leave a comment on this issue to nominate the issue(s) they'd like this enabled on.
