This minor release adds Venmo support to PayPal Checkout.
To enable Venmo support, edit your PayPal Checkout payment gateway configuration and ensure Venmo is enabled as a funding source. From this release forward, when a customer pays via PayPal Checkout, the funding source will be saved to the order's data array and made available as a template variable (order.funding_source). Add it to
your user and admin order templates to show the specific funding source in the UI.
This beta release was mainly tagged to address an issue occurring when upgrading from "old" beta versions causing potential data loss due to the payment method type being uninstalled which now extends the CreditCard payment method type which defined credit card fields.
p>Changes since 8.x-1.0-beta8:
This release fixes an important regression introduced causing an error when placing an order as anonymous using the Smart payment buttons when initiating the payment from the checkout review step.
This release requires the latest Drupal commerce version (2.19) in order to leverage the ability for offsite gateways to support stored payment methods (Off-site payment gateways may now support stored payment methods). It contains numerous bugfixes, as well as new features (Smart payment buttons now require multiple carts, last digits of the card used are now stored when using the "Accept credit cards" payment solution, as well as better support for the addressbook).
This beta release introduces the support of the PayPal Custom card fields payment solution which allows merchants to accept credit cards using the "PayPal Commerce Platform" gateway (a.k.a PayPal Checkout).
This minor release updates labels and interface text related to the PayPal Credit program, which used to be called Bill Me Later. Contact your PayPal representative or Commerce Guys if you have any questions about the change or concerns about lapse in service.
None of the functionality added in Commerce PayPal 2.0 requires a change to the configuration of existing sites using Commerce PayPal 1.0. Simply update the new version of the module in place of the older one and run update.php for good measure.
The first beta release of the 2.x branch includes support for Express Checkout and PayPal Payments Advanced / Payflow Link. For more information, refer to the project page and the documentation linked to from there.
Nightly development snapshot of the 2.x branch (including Express Checkout and Payflow Link / PayPal Payments Advanced support).
Until this branch reaches its beta version, changes are liable to be made to the API and payment method settings that will not be supported by update functions.
With no real issues since the RC1, it's time to call it a 1.0 and open up the new branch for development. Look to the roadmap on the project page for more information of development to include PayPal Express Checkout, PayPal Payments Advanced, and Payflow Gateway integration.
This release candidate is the result of a week long development sprint ensuring the existing support for PayPal WPS and WPP is completely up to date and functioning. The module is already in use on thousands of sites, so no database schemas have changed, but new configuration options have been added to both supported payment methods that may be used now. Additionally, both modules now support multi-currency sites, allowing you to accept payments in any currency supported by PayPal and automatically converting other currencies to your default currency prior to submission.
