Make a 7.x-2.0 release

The project page (https://www.drupal.org/project/api) says, "It is recommended to use the latest stable 7.x-1.x release of the API module."
The documentation for using 7.x-1.x (https://www.drupal.org/docs/7/modules/api-module/create-your-own-api-7x-1x-site-in-drupal-7) says, "The 7.x-1.x version of the API module is being replaced by the 7.x-2.x version. It is probably not a good idea, at this point, to use the 1.x branch to build a new API module site."

Which is correct? One of them should be updated.
