Unassign by commenting with /do:unassign **valthebald**: If testing is required: Add the tag “Needs QA”If a UX review is required: Add the tag “Needs UX review” ### 4️⃣ Organizational/discussions ### 4️⃣ 1️⃣ Issues split **valthebald**: Pay attention that some modules already moved to gitlab, and some stay on drupal.org.This sprint the split is ~50 on d.o. and ~100 in gitlab **webchick**: As one of the 50 (AI Best Practices), Claude and I ended up spending an inordinate amount of time this weekend learning / re-learning different contribution flows. (Which is still ongoing)This information is starting to make its way into “skills” in the project, for example: https://git.drupalcode.org/project/ai_best_practices/-/tree/1.0.x/skills/drupal-gitlab?ref_type=heads and https://git.drupalcode.org/project/ai_best_practices/-/merge_requests/36 and whether you use agents or not it’s probably worth reading through that info cos some things are weird now  **webchick**: Also I'm curious if anyone (esp AI initiative?) has developed any tooling for the “~50 on Drupal.org, ~100 on GitLab” problem because it's driving me nuts not having the equivalent of /project/issues/user anymore across all of my “projects of interest” :sob:(If not I might try and “vibe code” something with Claude at some point.) **Marcus Johansson**: @webchick - there is https://www.drupalstarforge.ai/ that tries to collect issues from both - currently @Nick and @valthebald manages it I think. Repo here: https://github.com/FreelyGive/Drupal-AI-Dev-TrackerWe have extra automation being added via adding some deterministic features via: https://www.drupal.org/project/gitlab_api. There is a video here about it: Marcus Johansson in #gitlab-ai-issuesI have also created a module that creates Drupal entities and keeps in sync with the projects, meaning that any analytics the PMs wants, should be possible via this + views or something custom made.I just got hold of a Claude Code account as part of the Alpha-Omega project from Linux Foundation, so I will start testing to add automated code reviews and possibility to ask @claude on one of the provider modules. If that is successful/works and if the given credits are enough, we could start pushing that out to more projects. If you have any ideas let me know!I will also put somethings on loop on my local server, to do issue maintenance like setting priority and weight automatically, since dynamic sessions doesn't count to the api usage. Maybe also have Claude automatically create MR for bugs under a certain complexity threshold.I'm not sure that answers the question, but with so much happening, its better to write everything happening 🙂 **webchick**: I'm not sure if it does either but THANK YOU so much for the pointer to those resources, I'll take a look! **valthebald**: I'm tricking my daughter (not in Drupal Slack yet) into Drupal development by giving her task to support import from gitlab to drupalstarforge 🙂 ### 4️⃣ 2️⃣ Not part of AI initiative, but have some feedback? Please leave it here ### 5️⃣ Open mike! What are you working on? Are you blocked? Or do you want to discuss a specific topic? Add your status, questions, and topics (and discuss them in threads) for another 23 hours. Start a new thread with 5️⃣ 1️⃣ , 5️⃣ 2️⃣ etc. ### 5️⃣2️⃣ Update from AI Best Practices Victoria Day long weekend hackathon: the project now ships with a handful of genuinely useful skills to help agents be smarter about Drupal: automated tests, accessibility info, GitLab info, Drupal API conventions, etc.Especially if you're new to GitLab, would appreciate folks to try it out and take a look at the MR queue which has a variety of others. I believe we are genuinely now in a place where AI Best Practices will start to save material amounts of both time and tokens as we make our way to MVP release. (edited) **d34dman**: Is there a guideline on how to create skills in contrib projects? I see some reference in https://git.drupalcode.org/project/ai/-/tree/1.x/.agents/skills?ref_type=headsBut is there a guideline on how to create them ? **webchick**: We are working on development of such guidelines at https://git.drupalcode.org/project/ai_best_practices/-/work_items/3588225 **d34dman**: Hah! that is great, it answers a lot of things which i had in mind Thank you! ### 6️⃣ 3️⃣ Released AI Context / CCC beta 2 a week ago Need beta testers  **Kristen Pol (she/her)**: Kristen Pol (she/her) in #ai-contrib ### 5️⃣4️⃣ General information about using Gitlab issues for anyone wanting to contribute.Note that there are now slash commands, making it possible to use the same workflow as on traditional issues on drupal.org. See the documentation of quick commands here: https://new.drupal.org/drupalorg/gitlab-custom-commandsThis means that if you are not a maintainer of a module, you can still contribute like before.Example #1 - you want to create an issue on AI module and create a MR for it:Click "New Item" on https://git.drupalcode.org/project/ai/-/work_itemsPick a template, depending on the issue and fill in thoroughly (we will have automation refusing low-effort issues here soon)Click "Create Issue"Assign it to yourself by writing the following in the comment section /do:assign me Create a fork, by writing the comment /do:forkA comment will be added with a link that can help you setup a MR if you are unsure how to.Commit your changes as usual to the fork. When finished and its ready for review, you can set the needs review label by writing the comment /do:label ~state::needsReviewThen you can unassign yourself, by writing /do:unassign me Example #2 - you want to work on an issue in needs work, that already has a fork.Write a comment that you are assign it to yourself /do:assign meAlso get access by writing a comment /do:access which gives you access to the current forks.Change the code. When you are finished make sure to unassign yourself /do:unassign me and update the label if needed.Example #3 - you want to review an issue.Write a comment that you are assign it to yourself /do:assign meReview and test the code.Relabel to RTBC if it looks good /do:label ~state:rtbc or if it needs work /do:label ~state:needsWorkWhen you are finished make sure to unassign yourself /do:unassign meA huge thanks to @hestenet (he/him) and @fjgarlin for setting this up! (edited) **Marcus Johansson**: Also read:https://www.drupal.org/drupalorg/blog/gitlab-issue-migration-a-contributors-perspectivehttps://www.drupal.org/drupalorg/blog/gitlab-issue-migration-immediate-changesAnd also note that we in the AI Intitiative will add some automations of labels, issue checking etc. Some of it is there already in AI Agents as a test bed, but it will be pushed to all project soon. **d34dman**: Am not able to use these commands... I now you are not tech support. but is anybody else running into same issue? **Marcus Johansson**: Any specific project it doesn't work on? **d34dman**: I am just trying to assign this one to me https://git.drupalcode.org/project/orchestration/-/work_items/3575105 and create a fork **Marcus Johansson**: did you try commenting /do:assign @me ? **d34dman**: Did that and pressed enter, it got me here **d34dman**: its performing a search for me  **Marcus Johansson**: does it search, when you comment? 🙂 **d34dman**: yep **Marcus Johansson**: ah, not there - scroll down and in the comments **Marcus Johansson**: just a normal comment **d34dman**: ok it is the me error **d34dman**: now i got it. **d34dman**: Hmm how can i update https://new.drupal.org/drupalorg/gitlab-custom-commands ? Looks like I can't **Marcus Johansson**: I think you would have to ask @fjgarlin to edit that page **d34dman**: also in the comments, i have access to some commands, but not the custom ones. But at least this is something. I will drop @fjgarlin a message **Marcus Johansson**: yeah, the normal built in ones you probably don't have access to - all the added ones won't autocomplete since they are custom ones. You just have to paste, post and pray  (edited) **Marcus Johansson**: just try to comment /do:assign @me and I'm 99% sure you will be assigned to the issueYou can see an example here: https://git.drupalcode.org/project/ai/-/work_items/3586448#note_859510 **d34dman**: yay! it did the assignement 🙂 well pretty lame to do it via comment, but i can see if i can use it from terminal :stuck_out_tongue: **d34dman**: then its awesome! **Marcus Johansson**: yup, it works with glab and in continuation Claude Code 🙂 **d34dman**: I see where it was going 🙂 awesome stuff ### 5️⃣5️⃣ I have heard tell that there is now a Drupal AI Dev Summit being planned the Monday of DrupalCon Rotterdam. Information I have on this in thread. :thread: Let's brainstorm what we want to get out of this event! **webchick**: @wouters_f sent me this Google doc https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lSrcq13l10L64Gdi3uVGC2nlN-dnOy-Otbitv3w3VSU/edit?tab=t.0 with the start of a plan.I also understand @matthews is the one planning this.So endeth my knowledge :joy: **webchick**: However I do think it's a great idea, as developer + contributor enablement on AI is a huge issue, as is working together on ways to make this easier on everyone. My only concern is whether or not we “split the audience” too much with key contributors feeling torn between this and the AI Enterprise summit happening at the same time (anyone have any more info on that event?)But if they're clearly distinguished eg Enterprise == for business leaders / agency owners / end users and Dev == contributors / developers this could work quite well. (edited) **matthews**: I have the same concerns @webchick but in think the horse has already left the barn so I'll do the best I can for our contributors. **webchick**: Are / can these events be physically co-located with one another? That would help if you just needed to move from one room to the other. **webchick**: Another question, selfishly ;), have we considered the possibility of doing “hybrid” for this event or some portions of the event so those of us far away could take part? **matthews**: They won't be. The Enterprise event is on a boat. The contrib is going to be with the rest of the summits **webchick**: LOL ON A BOAT DAMN **webchick**: Solution! Ai Dev Summit is on a pirate ship :joy: **webchick**: Ok then the whole “what are the details of the AI enterprise summit” question becomes more important:who is that event for? What is the agenda? Is there a cost associated? (Presumably)Is it invite only (possibly?)Who is already committed?(edited) **webchick**: Because I’ll just be super real with you, if I have the opportunity to talk AI on a BOAT or in a HOTEL CONFERENCE ROOM (or whatever) I know which one I'm picking :joy::joy::joy: **matthews**: @wouters_f ^^^ do you have deets on the Enterprise handy that you can share with @webchick? **webchick**: (I almost certainly can't make the event either way but damn, well done!) (edited) **webchick**: There is this https://www.drupal.org/community/events/enterprise-drupal-ai-summit-where-business-meets-innovation-2026-09-28 **webchick**: It brings together business leaders, enterprise architects, and digital teams to explore how organizations use Drupal as a platform for scalable digital experiences, integration-heavy systems, and AI-driven content strategies. The event highlights real-world use cases, ROI stories, and modern architecture patterns such as composable and API-first approaches.Attendees typically include senior decision-makers and technical architects who work with complex digital platforms in government, higher education, and large enterprises. The agenda focuses on strategy rather than code, with sessions on innovation, data sovereignty, and enterprise-grade digital ecosystems. **webchick**: So that is a clear “target audience” and “agenda” differentiator … I think my main concern is if I were an agency owner at this event with a bunch of European clients to impress with my AI acumen I would want my strongest tech lead there most likely also. **webchick**: I also like the idea of a lower cost (or free?) community AI event aimed at developers as an alternative to the very commercial interest oriented nature of this. But that means we need to figure out ASAP who is actually available to lead sessions that day and won't be floating in the sea. (edited) **webchick**: (I can see now why people have been asking if there is any way I could make Rotterdam ;)) (edited) **webchick**: So, idea #1: don't make it a formal session thing. Run it like an unconference / Lean Coffee kind of situation where the agenda gets set by the people in the room and what they want to talk about.Risk: they all want to know X AI thing and the expert on X AI thing is on a boat. :P (edited) **webchick**: Idea #2: run it as a full day AI hackathon, with an hour or so of enablement at the beginning.https://github.com/temporal-community/hackathon-in-a-box is our playbook at work on how to do this (which might need some updates): get people to pitch ideas at the beginning, break into smaller teams, do demos at the end and have dorky prizes like these silly trophies. (edited) **matthews**: There is already a rough schedule proposed. One that I think is pretty good. I've organized quite a few of these AI focused days now and have been getting a pretty good feel for what resonates. **webchick**: Yes my concern is are any of those people actually available? (Like, I am in that schedule, and I will be in Vancouver ) **matthews**: Yeah. I get that. **webchick**: But if you get confirmation, agreed that that plan as stated is a good one :) I am just concerned that those names might be more of a “wish list” than a plan. **matthews**: I’ll probably bite the bullet and lead the day and not (I'm not bitter) hang on the boat. But I agree, we need to line this up quickly and get some commitments. **webchick**: @matthews I think you should do whatever makes sense for your business tbh. The community can take care of itself in my experience, if we can set up the right “container” and have a facilitator there. **webchick**: I might possibly be able to pull in some European friends / former coworkers who are experienced at this sort of thing (eg in the DevOps / PostgreSQL communities) and do not know a single thing about Drupal and therefore have no reason to be on a boat about it LOL (edited) **webchick**: (OR maybe some work that chx is doing around Temporal pans out and suddenly work is like “but Angie, now you MUST go to drupalcon”) **Kristen Pol (she/her)**: I didn't read all the above We looked into co location (my idea :upside_down_face: ) but it would have been cost prohibitive unfortunately The Enterprise one is for C level, decision makers, etcDev is for dev /site builder / community ### 5️⃣6️⃣ I reviewed this issue, plan to review some AI issues as well:[#3590873]#comment-16591694 Participants: valthebald, NikLP, Dunx, webchick, d34dman, George Kastanis, ronaldtebrake, Kristen Pol, Marcus Johansson, Isabel, svendecabooter
